After the first appointment and for the duration of the suggested detox or maintenance programme, please allow one hour for each subsequent visit.

During each visit we will evaluate the on-going results of your programme.

The treatment

Before your treatment your therapist will give you a dressing gown to change into in the privacy of your treatment room. Once you have followed this procedure and are lying comfortably on the treatment bed, covered with the towels provided, the therapist will return to the room to explain the insertion procedure and begin the treatment.

Please note that all colon hydrotherapy consumables are disposed of as clinical waste to provide safe and comfortable treatment. Nothing is cleaned and re-used other than the machine itself which undergoes a complete cycle of sanitation between treatments. Your dignity will be protected at all times.

Med-Spa Clinic provides colon hydrotherapy treatment with closed German system Colon-Hydromat . Water, having been purified and filtered in the machine, is gently infused into the intestines. Using a specially designed disposable tube system, the rinsing water and the contents of the intestines are washed out at the same time - the treatment is absolutely hygienic and odourless. The therapist will adjust the water temperature for you. Following which, the flow of purified water is regulated into your colon to ensure a comfortable excretion of waste throughout the treatment.

After a number of therapy intervals, the permanent alternation between a regulated and comfortable short internal pressure in the intestines and an immediate rinsing will loosen even hard sediments and sticking particles in the corrugations of the colon. The intestines are massaged internally and clean themselves by contraction, the surrounding tissue is also cleaned in the areas where most of the immune system is located. Your therapist will gently massage your lower abdomen to aid the release of waste. Therefore this therapy does not only consist of a rinsing of the intestines but of the whole abdomen. The therapy is absolutely painless and the experience can be pleasant and relaxing.

Your therapist will frequently return to the room to check your progress throughout the session but does not need to be there with you all the time. If you wish, you can enjoy the treatment in your own privacy listening to soothing music or perhaps watching a relaxation DVD.

This greatly assists our clients to feel at ease during the session and to overcome any embarrassment. We also genuinely believe in the emotional component of ‘release’ which often goes hand in hand with the physical ‘letting go’. In times of emotional release, some clients prefer to have a moment by themselves and we respect that need.

Either way, our friendly and discreet therapists will be there for you in every way possible, informing you, educating you, supporting you and giving you the personal attention that you deserve.

Once the treatment is finished, you will get dressed and return to the consultation room where you will be given an energising drink and probiotic supplement if required. At this stage, you and your therapist will also be able to review together how your course of treatment is progressing.
