SkinClear Acne Clearance

SkinClear SRVH laserThe SkinClear SRVH laser works by targeting sebaceous (oil-producing) glands and shrinking them.

SkinClear SRVH is considered by experts to be the best for delivering the required heat to the correct and average depth of sebaceous glands in the facial area (approximately 200 to 300 microns).

How does SkinClear work?

The sebaceous glands are damaged by the heat produced by the laser, which causes them to shrink. After the treatment the glands are still present but they will produce less oil.

Light-based acne treatments targeting sebaceous glands usually require fewer sessions – typically four – at two to four week intervals. These initial treatments can often provide an immediate improvement for the client, but it can take up to three months to produce satisfactory results.

Single acne treatments typically take from 15 to 30 minutes to administer depending on the extent of coverage required. Common areas affected by acne are the face, chest and back. Clinicians are reporting acne clearance in excess of 50% in most patients, with 20% of the treated patients reporting clearance in excess of 90%. Results also show that quite often 20% of patients treated will not be good responders to light-based treatments, with some people not seeing the full benefits until several weeks after their final treatment.
